Tipping

Tipping is normal in Egypt due to low wages. Where there isn't a Service Charge included in the Bill, the tip should be 10 % of the total amount. It is recommended that you always have small cash on you for tipping anybody that provides you with a service (e.g. the porter at the airport, the person in the public toilet who offers you toilet paper when you enter, the person at the cinema that shows you to your seat etc – pay anywhere from 50 piasters to 2-3 L.E).
